Denali National Park & Preserve, located in interior of Alaska, offers a wide range of seasonality to choose from. From snow-capped mountains to lush green tundra or harvest red leaves, Denali experiences an array of seasons all within four months.

Mid-May to Early June

Great time to visit Denali. The weather tends to be cooler, but you will find fewer visitors during this time. You will also likely find special rates for lodging and some activities. Animals are easier to spot on the snow-capped hillsides.

June and July

Offers great weather, averaging in the mid-60s and long periods of sunlight. Summer solstice can see 22-plus hours of functional daylight. The hillsides and mountains are lush green.

August to Early September

Offers warm weather temperatures during the day, but chilly at night. Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) are viewable on clear nights, But remember to ask for a wake-up call from your front desk to view the Northern Lights. Foliage colors are changing this time of year from green to red to yellow. And snow is possible.
