4 firefighters injured battling 60-acre wildfire in Napa County, Cal Fire says
Four firefighters were injured Wednesday while battling a 60-acre wildfire in Napa County, California, officials said. The Crystal Fire, which was burning amid high heat, was about 65% contained by the evening, officials with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said. The four firefighters were being treated at local hospitals for injuries "related to response in the steep, rocky terrain and hot summer conditions," fire officials said.

Retired NASCAR driver and son arrested for alleged assaults on police during Jan. 6 riot
A retired NASCAR driver and his son were arrested Wednesday and charged along with two other Pennsylvania men for allegedly assaulting police during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to the D.C. U.S. Attorney's Office. Tighe Scott, 75, and his son Jarret Scott, 48, face two felony offenses each as well as a multiple misdemeanor offenses for a series of alleged assaults prosecutors say they engaged in outside the Capitol among the pro-Trump mob. Charging documents show the FBI confirmed Tighe Scott's identity in part because a witness told agents he was a retired NASCAR driver.

6 arrested in connection with shooting near US Embassy in Beirut: Lebanese Army Command
Six people, including the alleged gunman, have been arrested in connection with a shooting Wednesday morning near the entrance to the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, that injured a Lebanese guard, authorities said. The alleged gunman was shot by the Lebanese Army and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, local authorities said. The suspect, a Syrian national, was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment, the Lebanese Army said in Arabic on its official social media account.
