Bring AP to Your School

The AP Program is a worldwide academic program that offers secondary school students the opportunity to take university-level coursework in 38 subjects, including AP Computer Science Principles and two AP Capstone courses—Seminar and Research— which focus on research and analysis skills.

With AP, teachers get a detailed curriculum framework on which to base their courses. AP also gives teachers the freedom to design their own lesson plans and develop teaching strategies to support students as they take on challenging coursework.

How AP Benefits Students

Taking AP can help students stand out on college and university applications. Thousands of colleges and universities around the world, including most in the U.S. and Canada, grant credit, advanced course placement, or both for qualifying AP Exam scores in one or more subjects.

AP Classroom Online Resources

AP Classroom’s free online resources help AP teachers everywhere target their lessons to the content and skills their students need to focus on most. These new AP resources, which include an online library of 30,000 real AP Exam questions you can use for in-class activities and homework assignments, offer focused instructional content and give students more opportunities to build their skills and measure their understanding.

Featured AP Courses

We work closely with university and K–12 educators to develop new AP courses and enhance existing ones. Here are some recent additions to AP.

AP Computer Science Principles

AP Computer Science Principles expands access to computer science education for all students, regardless of race, gender, income, or geography.

The course introduces students to foundational concepts of computer science. Through working with data and collaborating to solve problems, they're able to apply these concepts to real scenarios impacting our world today.

AP Capstone

AP Capstone™ is made up of two yearlong courses: AP Seminar and AP Research. These courses develop students’ skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting—skills that students need to succeed at university and in careers.

Students who complete the two-year AP Capstone program could earn either a certificate or diploma, both of which are valued by colleges around the world.
